Ruth Roman, one of Hollywood's most prolific figures, a beautiful talented actress born in Boston, MA in 1924. Roman began her career by starring in the title role of Jungle Queen (1945). Roman studied drama at Bishop Lee Dramatic School in Boston, Roman played supporting rolls in Stage Door Canteen (1943)Since You Went Away (1944), she stared in her first feature film in 1948 landing the starring role in Bell Starr's Daughter, she also starred in Champion, The Window, Always Leave Them Laughing, Beyond The Forest and Colt .45 in 1950. It was in 1951 when Alfred Hitchcock cast Roman in the familiar classic Strangers on a Train. Roman continued her acting career into the 70,s and 80's playing ever increasingly complicated character roles in made for TV movies. Ruth Roman films include: Mara Maru (1952),Young Man With ideas (1953), Blowing Wild (1954), Down Three Dark Streets, The Shanghai Story and Tanganyika (1955).
